8.21 Is superstition really that bad?

Doubt - #OnlineSaints

Superstition is probably about as old as the human race. But that does not make it something good. The Bible clearly opposes superstition (Col 2:8-10), for it is only faith in our loving God that will help us come forward in life.

Christopher served Christ faithfully during his life, and died as a martyr for the faith. The custom of gluing a Saint Christopher’s medal on the dashboard of your car is a silent prayer, asking for his intercession. But this is no superstitious protection, so keep your hands firmly on the wheel!

Saint Christopher

Superstition is the opposite to faith: it is not the act of touching wood or burying a statue that will save you, but only faith in God’s saving works!
