Sacraments - #OnlineSaints

Byzantine or Greek Catholics are in full union with the pope. They make the sign of the cross as a silent prayer to God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Many of their priests are married before they receive the sacrament of ordination.

Cyril and Method were not married: they were fully dedicated to their mission of proclaiming and explaining the faith in Eastern Europe. It is especially thanks to them that so many people in this area became Catholic.

Byzantine Catholics are fully Catholic. The sign of the cross is made often as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice for us. Byzantine priests can choose to get married.
