#TwGOD in Korea

Tweeting with God conquers new horizons

Father Michel was invited by the Korean bishops to visit Korea and share his experiences as creator of Tweeting with God and Online with Saints.

The visit, which took place from 30 April to 6 May, began with Holy Mass at the shrine of the Korean Martyrs. On different occasions father Michel had the opportunity to meet young people. While talking with them he heard about their experiences of what it means to be Catholic in Korea and how they use #TwGOD. He was regularly asked to address a great variety of groups, university students, catechists, youth ministers, and candidates to the priesthood. Father Michel visited several offices working with youth in the Diocese of Seoul.

A major event during this visit was a “Talk Concert”, a concert and conference organized by the Diocese of Seoul in which father Michel spoke about how young people can live their faith nowadays. The conference was a combination of talks by the creator of #TwGOD and performances by a youth choir. “This is not about a book or an app, this is about a real-life encounter with Jesus, which can change your life!”, said father Michel. “Jesus is speaking to you: at this very moment he asks you one single question: ‘Do you love me?’ If you are able to say ‘yes’ to this question, your life will never be the same, and it will be better every day!”, he added.

More than 7,000 copies of the book “Tweeting with God” have already been distributed in Korea, and it is one of the most important tools for youth ministry. Many young people brought their copy to the meetings and asked father Michel for a dedication.
